Spencer, Wen (A Brother's Price)

Reverse gender fantasies tend to throw me for a loop. It's not that they're not interesting or valuable as a sub-sub-genre, but that they often take so much work to read-- because you're always having to flip the setting into the current worldview to get the irony, etc.

This one was well written enough that I didn't find it too hard to follow after the first 50 pages or so. I'm still not a huge fan, though, because the plot was rather pedestrian. Girl meets boy, girl is estranged from boy, girl meets boy again and difficulties ensue to keep them apart, girl and boy are reunited.

The romance-novel tendency of this book made it somewhat of a slog, consequently.
